Program Description

Event Details

Join Dr. Lawrence Hogan (Professor Emeritus of History from Union County College) and writer, musician and playwright, Kevin Kane for an in depth and poetic presentation of the history of Negro League Baseball, including pioneer Jackie Robinson, whom we celebrate this year on the 75th anniversary of his breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball.

Dr. Hogan draws from his extensive published research on the Negro Leagues, including his book The Forgotten History of African American Baseball.   Kevin Kane will recite his now famous Negro League version of “Casey at the Bat,” called “Breaking the Line with the Mudville Nine.”
