Event Details
Join us for an uplifting lecture on the life and work of Alma Thomas, a pioneering artist whose vibrant abstractions continue to inspire generations. As the first Black woman to have her artwork proudly displayed in the White House, Thomas transformed color and pattern into a language of joy and resilience. After the lecture, participants will create their own colorful compositions in Thomas’ signature style, exploring how rhythm and pattern can express emotion and beauty. All materials provided; no prior art experience necessary.
This program is geared towards ages 55 & over.
