Tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world! This presentation combines a basic primer tea, tea history and tea cultures. You will learn what tea is; where tea is grown and how it is produced. You will discover the differences between white, green, oolong, black and pu’erh. You’ll learn the difference between tea, tisane and Rooibos. Through its history, you will discover the important impacts that tea has had on culture, economics and politics. We will answer your questions about tea and will finish with a tea tasting or tea from around the globe.
This event accompanies the traveling exhibit World on the Move: 250,000 Years of Human Migration.
World on the Move: 250,000 Years of Human Migration was developed by the American Anthropological Association, together with the Smithsonian’s Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage and Smithsonian Exhibits. It is administered by the American Library Association’s Public Programs Office.
