Join us for a fun and engaging learning opportunity to learn basic coding concepts through creating interactive animations and graphics during this two-part workshop series. Students will learn about core coding concepts such as variables and expressions, loops, conditionals, events and functions through activities creating visual art using the web-based tool https://editor.p5js.org/. This is a great opportunity to learn basic coding concepts which can then be applied across many programming languages you may decide to explore after.
Important Note : This is a two-part workshop series. Part 1 is on Tue 10/7 and Part 2 in on 10/9. Registering for this series registers you for both workshops.
Attendees must attend the Part 1 workshop in order to attend and participate in the Part 2 workshop.
Pre-requisites:
- Participants are required to have basic skills using a computer keyboard, navigating the Internet and using email.
- Participants need to have their own personal email account they can access during the workshop series in order to create a free account for the coding tool to be used. We will be unable to create email accounts during the workshop so participants need to have an established email account at the time of the workshop.
- Participants are invited to bring their own laptop to the workshop series if more comfortable, however the library can provide laptops for all participants as needed.
This program is for adults ages 18 and over.
